I’ve worked with Greg in mindfulness training and mentorship for a few years now. In that time, I left my job to pursue a career that feels more authentic and meaningful to me. I’ve repaired relationships with family members and friends. I’ve cultivated more self-compassion, and I give myself more grace. I have connected with my inner child and healed deep shame wounds. I am now sober for over a year and got free of my addiction to cigarettes. I’ve learned mindfulness tools for how to self-regulate when I am feeling elevated. Before working with Greg, I often felt panicked and overwhelmed with life; now, I’ve achieved more balance in my physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual health. To sum it up, I genuinely love my life more now.
To interact with Greg is to feel pure love and joy. If you’re unsure, just meet with him once and you will understand what I mean. Greg offers really potent wisdom, but he sure knows how to laugh, too. To know Greg is to love him, and to feel known and loved in return.

I was stressed and felt like I was always running behind, which made everything else worse. My time with Greg was the peak of my week. I learned to use my body to calm, quiet, and focus my mind. Amazing! Just 5 minutes powerfully and positively impacted my whole day. Now I’m more in control and feel better. And if I’m stressed, I know exactly what to do to calm down and refocus. Greg helped me realize that there is more beauty in this world than I thought and that I’ve a role to play in making even better. Greg pushes me in a good way.

I learned the tools to be grounded, mindful, present, courageous and curious…and disciplined. Now I am confident, balanced, and authentic. When I look back to where I was when we started and where I am now I can hardly believe the difference—now is so much better!

It’s about how you feel with Greg; peaceful…and simultaneously challenged. It’s about how you feel after Greg is gone; renewed, inspired, and more able to bear the lack of resolution in life. It’s about the kind of thoughts you think with Greg—fresh, panoramic ideas bursting with potential. It’s about how you are after he’s gone; more self-reflective, more considerate, kinder, simpler.

…I was always stressed—even on weekends! Now I can catch my negative mind before it spirals out of control, plus, I can catch myself before I do something I’ll regret. When I practice mindfulness in meetings I am less reactive -- I see situations more clearly and solutions more easily. I communicate better and make better decisions. Our meetings are smoother—and shorter! I see the difference mindfulness makes to our bottom line.

I needed to gain some clarity on choices in my career and in my personal life. I needed a way to get clear on my thoughts and make those decisions in the right way.
I needed to get to the heart of matter. I learned to respond to the world instead of just react to stimuli.
I learned to develop more focus, clarity, and creativity to address issues. I waste less energy and experience less stress.
Now I am creating real changes where they need to happen: I can clear my thoughts. I have confidence in my viewpoints and express them clearly. I give feedback effectively. I create and discuss strategy with superiors and create real change in the direction of our company. All this with a higher general level of happiness.

The biggest thing mindfulness training has provided me is control. And by control I mean I have greater control over my state of being. I am living my life with intention and through this I am able to operate in a manner that brings me happiness on a daily level. The result is that I get more done each day. Not only my work but the things that are important to me. I still need to work out more, sure, but I am content with how I perform each day. How I communicate with the people I work with each day. The time I spend with my children and my wife each day, because I am engaged and present. I am focused on that moment. I am able to stay calm when situations are intense. And most importantly when I see myself veering off track, I have the tools to bring my back. This is the power of mindfulness. You can’t be perfect all of the time but you gain the tools and knowledge so you can be perfect most of the time.

Mindfulness practice with Greg has made me more humble. There was a time in my life where I wanted to as much control as I could get, but mindfulness taught me that I already have control -- over myself. I no longer seek control, and my relationships are better because of it. Relationships are the foundation of business. Mindfulness also clears my mind enough to be motivated to follow certain goals. When the mind is too busy, it cannot think creatively. Creative solutions are just as good as -- if not better than -- technical solutions.

On a warm and glorious day in late September I “retreated” with Greg Burdulis at the Hermitage Quaker cabin in the hills of Monroe County, Indiana. I am not a new hand at experiences like this having been meditating and doing yoga regularly since the mid-1970s. This was a new and wonderful thing, fun, delicious, and inspiring. It is now 7 weeks later, and I still feel the positive effects in my meditation practice and in my day to day, moment to moment mindfulness. I am still warmed by my memories as winter comes on. I would recommend Greg and this personal retreat experience to anyone seeking to deepen their practice, wanting to take a break in a lovely setting, or new to Buddhist practice and looking for more.

Greg has had a profound influence on my life. Together, we've navigated a variety of personal and professional challenges. Confidence, clarity, and intention have all resulted from our work together. He's harnessed and helped direct the energy of my team at the office and worked with me on an individual level for years. I've hired him to bring intention to executive workshops. It can take a group several hours to begin working harmoniously, if it happens at all. Greg is able to break the ice, help the disparate and distracted commit to a common purpose and direct their energy in a matter of minutes. It sticks too. His presence and participation throughout day-long sessions help maintain positivity and productivity. He's one of my favorite people to spend time with. I expect I've found in Greg, a lifelong teacher and a good friend.

I think you have been one of the most important teachers I've had in my life -- not that you've taken on the job description…. Mostly what you teach me is the value of continuously cultivating a heart of peace and a mind of openness -- and letting that be channeled in my way of being. I wanted to believe I already showed up in this way but you've given me a whole new standard to which to aspire. Dang (I mean, "oh good"), that means there's more personal work to do....

Greg once asked me to articulate why I meet with him. I started by trying to answer a question he hadn't asked. There really wasn't a "why" to mindfulness to me; I don't "do" mindfulness with a goal in mind. As many neurobiological benefits as there are, none is what compels me to sit, breathe and observe my brain chatter non-judgmentally. I was a little stuck. Until I remembered that he hadn't asked, "Why do you practice mindfulness?" He'd asked, "Why do you meet with me?" The answer came much more easily then: Greg fosters an environment of playfulness, joy, kinship, curiosity and exploration devoid of pretense, condescension or pseudo-spiritual jargon. And that's nice.

I am drawn to Greg. He is like a touchstone for me. I feel his centeredness immediately. In his presence I get in touch with my own mindfulness, I am less judgmental and I feel refreshed whether we talk about work of life. What we connect about is secondary to the fact that we connect. His presence nourishes me
GB has high degree of creditability.
I am fascinated by what he has to say. I want to know his perspective because it’s rich and considered.
When I am with GB, silence is comfortable and I love it. I can tell that he devoted a huge chunk of his life to practice.

You inspire me on a much broader level than your words and teachings. You combine seemingly effortlessly what I would like to embody when I grow up as a teacher:
It is a truly magical combination as you are all of these 100% even though mathematically you could only be 33.3% of each :D.

I experienced the happiness of childhood when everything was turning in love. I feel the “never-mind” attitude and the “let’s go on to the next good thing” attitude. I know what it means to live in the moment and can be here, now. I can be kind again—and not intellectualize too much.

Seems like the teams gel exponentially more each time. I can tell Greg’s work is paying off because communication has become more direct and honest, while removing personal attachment.
